Guiding
Positive Change
Cornerstone Consulting is led by Luke O’Toole, who has previously held positions as Head of Development at both the National Gallery of Ireland and at Blackrock College. Most recently he has been Director of Strategic Development at Dublin Cemeteries Trust, operator of Glasnevin Cemetery, which includes a TripAdvsor “Best of the Best” visitor attraction, Experience Glasnevin - Ireland’s National Cemetery, and four other cemeteries across Dublin.
Over a 28-year career, beginning with a U.S. based Consultancy firm, Luke has worked with a wide range of clients in the Culture & Heritage sector, in Education, in the Healthcare sector and in the field of charities and not-for-profits.
His work with numerous organisations, funding bodies, Government departments and High-Net-Worth individuals during that time has given Luke an extensive breadth of experience and knowledge which can help you transform your organisation across a range
of areas.
While working with these clients, we have built up high levels of experience and expertise in the following areas:
Strategic Planning
We can work with you to co-ordinate and compile a detailed, well-researched and soundly-based Strategic Plan. We will help you ensure that the resulting document is not an aspirational list of things you could or would like to achieve, but a real, vibrant template for positive change and growth in your organisation.
By consulting with Board, senior management, staff and external stakeholders, we will provide you with a strategy which will set attainable, yet ambitious targets in key areas for potential growth and development.
We can also work with you on the vitally important Implementation Programme, which is key to ensuring that your organisation’s strategic objectives are achieved.
Fund-Raising Management & Review
With 30 years experience in major-gift capital campaigns and a range of other fund-raising initiatives, we can work with you to devise a Fund-Raising Plan, analyse your current fund-raising programmes, and / or oversee and advise your own in-house development team.
Transforming the Visitor Experience
For Galleries, Museums and Culture and Heritage sites, we specialise in analysing the visitor experience and identifying ways in which that experience can be improved – we can also oversee the projects which will bring about those improvements, with the ultimate aim of increasing visitor numbers and turnover.
From “secret shopper” visitor analysis, booking processes, right through to wayfinding and signage, we can help you identify and implement key improvements to your visitor experience.
Project Management
We can oversee and steer specific, short-term projects in cases where you don’t have the personnel time, or the in-house skill-sets to deliver them successfully.
Examples include management of a rebranding exercise or of a redesign of a visitor experience, oversight of a procurement process, managing an external contractor or supplier in a key project, to name but a few.
